How to Play
Disadvantage
Disadvantage is whenever your opponent has a significant advantage over you. Situations like when you're getting juggled, stuck on the ledge, and mid combo are all examples of disadvantage state.
In order to get out of Disadvantage, characters lean on good burst options (moves that move you quickly across the stage), fast aerials, and good mobility. Wario's disadvantage is one of the absolute best in the game because he happens to have all three. Bike can be used to escape jggle situations and land safely as well as being an excellent recovery tool for when you need to make it back to the stage safely. Wario's Neutral-air and Down-air can be used to land aggresively, and because of Wario's amazing air speed, he can move away from his opponent and fast-fall airdodge can be used to easily escape juggles quickly and safely. As well as these several mix-ups, Wario is also quite small and is tied with Ridley for the 13th heaviest character in the game. Making him one of, if not, the best character at surviving in the entire game.
Another aspect of Disadvantage is when you're being ledgetrapped. Wario excells at completely avoiding ledgetraps through recovering high with bike. However, mixing up how high you bike and when you jump off of it are important to not being too predictable with your recovery and getting caught. However, when you have to recover to ledge and is getting ledgetrapped, what do you do? When getting ledgetrapped, remember to not recover with the same option and timing too many times, always mix it up so you are harder to catch. That being said, Wario's incredible air mobility makes his jump from ledge an incredibly strong option. Ledge jump into a drift back can even cause people who read a ledge jump to completely miss their punish due to how fast it is.
